me or me too, Is there a spellcheck on the new forum site? I figured out how to set the correct time after a fashion but the spell check seems to elude me.

Unless I get corrected, I cannot find a spellcheck function. I always try to proof my posts but every once and awhile.

If you switch from Internet Explorer to the Google Chrome browser you would have built in spell check for every website you visit including the Back Yard Fence.

I mostly use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. It's a free program and is pretty well supported. Misspelled words are automatically underlined in red. This is very helpful as my old and somewhat arthritic fingers no longer always hit the keys with equal force or in the order my brain tells them to. Of course, it is no help when what I type is also a real word but not the one I meant.

I do not think there is a spellcheck feature as part of the standard forum software. I will see if there is an add-on module.

Insert chuckle sound track see above quote for reason. I have a funny feeling that was deliberate.

I use this webpage to check my posts (when I remember of course).

http://www.spellchecker.net/spellcheck/

Just type out your response, copy and paste, check spelling, then copy and paste the corrected post. A bit of work but worth it in the end.

There does not appear to be a spellchecking module for this forum software at this time. It has been discussed in the Forumotion help board, and something may be created at some point, but many people just recommend using a browser with a spell checker.

I have found that the easiest way to spellcheck my posts is to type what I want to say in Word (I have Windows 7; Word 2010). I can then take advantage of all the necessary formatting, editing, and spellchecking features of Word. It also allows for the easy insertion, when needed, of diacritical marks; i.e., é, ç, è, etc. When I am satisfied with the post, I select the post (ctrl + a), copy the selected text, go to the Backyard fence, put the curser at the top of the reply window, and hit ctrl + v. That also leaves me a copy of my post in Word should I want to save it. This is similar to Ron’s suggestion but if you start in Word you don’t forget!
